GLOOR ...nach Amerika per Schiff Die ersten Gloor wanderten um 1700 nach Virginia aus. Die grosse Auswanderungswelle startete jedoch nach 1850, nachdem die Kartoffelseuche ganze Ernten auslöschte und einen Viertel der Bevölkerung des Aargau zur Auswanderung zwang. Die zweite grosse Welle kam nach 1880. Untenstehend sind die Gloor aufgeführt, deren Schiffspassage bekannt ist. Sie reisten hauptsächlich ab Le Havre (70%), Antwerpen (10%), der Rest ab Bremen, Hamburg, London und Liverpool. Ankunftsorte waren zu 90% New York, früher jedoch Baltimore, New Orleans und Philadelphia.
